The new KIT 2.0 architecture is now available

Over the past months, the Eclipse Tractus-X community has been working intensively and has just released the new KIT 2.0 architecture together with an updated web experience.

    What are Eclipse Tractus-X KITs?

You can think of a KIT (Keep it Together) as an open-source toolbox that brings together everything needed around a specific topic or use case:

    • Explanations and business context
    • Standards and best practices
    • Implementation examples and step-by-step guides
    • Links to code, models and documentation

They are designed so that business teams, solution providers and developers can work from a shared reference and build applications that are compatible with Eclipse Tractus-X dataspaces and the related standards.

    What’s new in KIT 2.0?

The new KIT 2.0 release is much more than a visual refresh. It introduces a clearer structure and a “single point of reference” for KIT information:

    • Multi-industry and multi-dataspace view: KITs are now organized so they can be reused across different initiatives (automotive, manufacturing, semiconductors, construction, etc.), and not just within a single ecosystem.
    • Better KIT definitions: Each KIT has a more consistent description, a clear scope and links to the right resources, so you can quickly understand what it covers and who it is for.
    • KIT Master Data as a single source of truth: A central view that lists all KITs, their maturity, the dataspaces they support and key metadata, making discovery much easier.
    • Clear lifecycle and maturity levels: You can immediately see whether a KIT is just starting, already stable or being phased out.
    • Basic “Getting started with KITs” guide: Step-by-step material for anyone who wants to create a KIT from scratch.
    • Statistics and quality insights: A quick view of how the KIT ecosystem is evolving and where further contributions are most needed.
    • Contribution and office hours: Specific contribution guidelines, community calls to action and open office hours where you can join, ask questions and help shape the roadmap.

Taken together, KIT 2.0 makes it easier to find the right toolbox for each situation, understand its real scope and start building, whether you come from the business side, IT or an integration partner.

You can explore the new architecture and all available KITs on the official website. If you’re interested in contributing, joining the office hours or simply staying up to date, the KITs page also provides links to community channels and contribution guides.

If you want to take the next step, join the Competence Center and gain access to a group of expert professionals, specialized training and solutions built on top of the KITs.
